I knew it was Beethoven I am a rock jazz fan but was led to Beethoven by Gerald Von Mayer, half Prussian, half German Jew, who grew up in Paris with his Jewish mother and German grandmother under Nazi control during WW2 Strange how he found it so hard to disclose his Jewishness..maybe not Hard to find a culture coach with better credentials BTW...his father, a Colonel in the Wermacht, died in Russia.
